Summer School Session 1 - Wrap Up! Dear readers of the What's New, It's hard to believe that tomorrow concludes our first session of summer school. I'm not exaggerating when I say that summer school is my favorite time of the year! I especially enjoy meeting the incoming freshmen and introducing the newest members of our school community to the campus, staff, and student body. | | It's also great to see the alumni visit during their summer break and share stories from their first year of college or study abroad experiences. PBA class of 2023 graduate Evan Yasutake stopped by just this afternoon to share about his exciting freshman year at UC Santa Cruz. (For any alumni reading this, you can catch him at the Alumni BBQ on July 7!) This time of year always feels a bit more relaxed than the regular school year, is marked by notable milestones such as students receiving their driver's licenses or starting their first job, and offers engaging courses that make for memorable summer experiences. The rising freshmen are enrolled in Humanities Prep and are getting ready to transition to STEM Prep for the next three weeks. Our fullest class this session is Introduction to Psychology, where upperclassmen can receive both PBA and college credit through Arizona State University. | Other options for them included SAT Prep and Latin American Geography. We also offer enrichment classes open to all grade levels including Taiko, Creative Art Studio, Dragon Mech Robotics, Dragon Athletics, and Rock Band. While a few session one students have upcoming travel or family plans, the majority will continue on for the next three weeks into session two. We look forward to the exciting opportunities ahead and hope you enjoy these photos capturing some of our favorite moments!
