Developing the courage to nurture peace
At PBA, it's not enough we graduate young people ready to excel in college. We achieve this component of the school's mission each year, and our graduates succeed in institutions of higher learning across the U.S. and internationally. But we are also concerned that they direct their thinking, their words and their actions toward the ends of making peace in their communities. What that means – directing themselves towards the ends of making peace – varies from individual to individual according to the dictates their conscience, their personal experiences, and the historical and environmental inheritances that influence all of us. But that aspiration – to direct ourselves towards the ends of peace – is fundamental to PBA's mission.
Thoughts, words and actions that promote peace takes mindfulness, training, practice and not a small amount of courage. PBA's program is designed to give students and teachers – indeed all members of our educational community – opportunities to develop courage.

At Pacific Buddhist Academy, we pride ourselves with our 100% college acceptance rate. Since opening its doors in 2003, all but one PBA graduate has gone on to higher education, and the single exception joined the Marines, the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and family tradition. PBA’s curriculum is designed to prepare students for college, the working world, and engaged citizenship. Exploration of higher education is encouraged from the 9th grade year and life skills courses prepare students to live independently.
Our graduates have attended colleges and universities across the world. Click the link below to learn more about some of their stories.
