Your legacy at pba
We invite you to join Pacific Buddhist Academy’s Legacy Society to help ensure the schools success in perpetuity. While annual giving provides the school with momentum to make a difference, Legacy Society members give PBA the gift of long-term financial security. The Director of Advancement is available to work with you and your financial advisor or tax attorney to achieve your philanthropic goals.
Join today by establishing a planned gift to PBA. Communicate your arrangements by mailing the letter of intent linked below.
What is a Legacy gift?
It is a gift of an asset given after you pass away.
Why have a Legacy Society?
Legacy gifts sometimes go unrecognized because they come at the end of a donor's life. The Legacy Society allows us to thank donors during their lifetime. You may choose to remain anonymous; however, your recognition can serve as an inspiration to others.
Who should Join?
Anyone can join. This is not just for the wealthy or for seniors. There is no minimum gift required, and no expectation of payment while you are living.
Legacy Society giving options
Whether you intend to provide an endowed scholarship, prepare an unrestricted gift, or plan for the future of a program special to you, the Legacy Society provides opportunities for you to make a profound impact. Below is our guide to common planned gifts. Please consult a financial professional about which options are best for you.
Description | Donor Benefits |
---|---|
bequests | |
Including PBA in your estate allows you to make a substantial gift without needing the income to do so now. You can designate a specific dollar amount, percentage, or the residual of your estate. Consult our suggested language with a legal professional: I hereby bequeath (%, $, or all of my residual estate amount) to the Pacific Buddhist Academy, a section 501(c)(3) public charity located at 1754 Lusitana Street, Honolulu, HI 96813, Federal Tax ID #04-3660909, to be used or disposed of as the Pacific Buddhist Academy in its sole discretion deems appropriate. Please contact [email protected] in order to process this request. |
|
RETIREMENT PLAN BENEFICIARY | |
Naming PBA as the sole or partial beneficiary of your retirement plans such as your life insurance, IRA, or donor advised fund allows you to leave a legacy using something you already own. |
|
IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER | |
Make tax-free charitable gifts directly from your Individual Retirement Account. Beginning in the year you turn 70½, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution. You pay no income taxes on your gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction. |
